As Walt Disney once said “progress is impossible without change” and change has certainly developed over the course of the years for the Star Wars themed expansions at both Disneyland and the Walt Disney World Resorts. The announcement was first made at the D23 Expo 2015 and at the time their was no exact opening date but, all we do know is that they are going open up both in 2019 with no given date. Chairman & CEO Bob Iger confirmed the opening for the expansions last month during the company’s quarter one fiscal year earrings call.

The Disney Parks Blog shared a update that will transport there guests to a never before seen planet and to interact with different characters and the environment around them like your actually living the blockbuster film franchise. Here’s some of those details in which they shared:
“We’re also creating two incredible new signature attractions: one that lets guests take the controls of Millennium Falcon on a customized secret mission, and an epic Star Wars adventure that puts guests in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance.”
The expansion will be 14 acres in size and from the progress so far at the Disneyland Resort is a video down below of construction steel frames of two AT-AT walkers from the Galactic Republic of the Star Wars universe.
