Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Opening Date Revealed Confirmed By Chairman/CEO Bob Iger

With this year being a huge year for The Walt Disney Company and what fans can look towards the most is the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland and Walt Disney World at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. If you have been following along on social media ever since the project was announced back in 2015, this expansion for Disney is going to be a game changer and something never done like anything before.

Those matters were addressed in an interview from Barrons as they sat down for an exclusive interview with the Chairman/CEO of Disney, Bob Iger himself. Chairman Iger explained about the increase of ticket prices, streaming services, and much more.

However, the big thing that Iger confirmed was an opening date for Galaxy’s Edge at Disneyland in Anaheim, California and will be opening up this upcoming June later this year in Late Fall for Walt Disney World. No exact date has been confirmed yet of “when” in June it will be opening up.

Iger did address about the crowding issues and said:

“We’re just getting higher demand on our product spread throughout the year. That gives you pricing leverage. But what we’re also trying to do is be much smarter about pricing strategy, to try to spread attendance and reduce attendance in the peak periods so we can improve guest satisfaction. Crowding is an issue.” 

Themed entertainment industry analysts were reporting last month, that Galaxy’s Edge could draw in about 200,000 guests and having 10-hour wait times for the Disneyland Resort. Pixar Pier was the most recent addition towards the Disneyland Resort, last year at Disney California Adventure and drew a lot of attention for California locals but, however Galaxy’s Edge will be nothing like the resort has ever seen since Disneyland first opened up in July 1955.
