Universal Beijing Resort Is Still Planning To Open Up In 2021, Despite The Coronavirus Outbreak In China

With the terrible and unfortunate circumstances of the Coronavirus that is breaking out globally and where it started in Wuhan, China is causing tough decisions through out many aspects of industries to put projects on hold or keep pushing forward especially for theme parks.

Beijing, China is getting a brand new Universal theme park that is expected to be opening up in May 2021 as details were fully announced of their plans near the end of last year. Bringing iconic franchises from the Universal family from Dreamworks Animation, “Kung Fu Panda”, Jurassic World, Transformers and more.

As for the current update for the park is still targeted for it’s grand opening in 2021, from an official at the Beijing municipal government told news outlets for the update reported Sunday, February 16th. Construction is expected to be completed at the end of 2020 from the official said.

Nearly half of construction is already completed at Universal Beijing Resort, with the main structure finished for the construction. Both on resort hotels for the Universal Studios Grand Hotel and the NUO Resort Hotel have completed construction along Universal Beijing’s CityWalk. The park’s main attractions inside have completed structures for some of them and the installation process can begin.

The construction site took extra precautions against the disease last month on January 23rd, that suspended anyone coming in from highly affected areas and screening all personnel who enter the site with temperature checks, according towards Chinese news outlet of the Beijing Daily.

The resort will also be implementing great cellular coverage for full 5G network and also developed flexible and scalable IT management system to support the park’s regular operations. Universal launched their recruitment website in May 2019, for hiring and training team members for their roles for the 14,000 jobs created for the opening in 2021.

The focus this year on recruiting roles in resort and park operations, engineering, marketing, sales, and service in making it one of the top destinations through Universal Parks & Resorts in Asia.

For now until Universal provides anymore updates for Universal Beijing Resort, despite the virus situation breaking out and it seems that the project is still going to be on track and pushing forward.
