As a first timer who is covering a massive national Halloween/horror event for Halloween Horror Nights for Universal Studios Orlando and Hollywood and seeing videos online from previous HHN events that in my opinion that, this is the best line up in the history of the event for this year. From the four iconic pop-culture horror slashers for HHN Hollywood to the icon of Chance for HHN Orlando and now this year its American Horror Story.
When the news broke out yesterday for this highly popular Emmy and Golden Globe horror/supernatural/drama anthology series that, I am still wrapping my brain around the news and how surreal this is of this highly requested show as a house/maze for HHN. As myself as a writer and fan of the show that it was matter of time of when this was officially coming towards HHN at some point. Originally “American Horror Story” was going to be put into the event around 2013 but, with the popular attention of AMC’s “The Walking Dead” it got over looked and never made it into towards the Universal Studios parks. This was when both shows back then were getting popular for competing television franchises.
Many rumors were circulating at the time for a while and both fans of the show and HHN were questioning of when it was going to be place in any of either of the Universal Studios parks. Behind the Thrills wrote up a post on June 29th, 2016 at the time when it was rumors and speculation for HHN and Season 6 of the show were teasing their fans for some sort of theme and still hasn’t been announced of what it will be for “American Horror Story” for this year’s Fall debut.
One month later on July 19th, 2016 I wrote up a blog post of the Top 5 Reasons Why American Horror Story would succeed for Universal Studios Hollywood & Orlando for HHN 26. Turns out I made a speculated prediction at the time and well, I am still in shock of what I predicted and was correct. Just on a side note, that I am not taking credit or anything cause it was just a guess and well..a good guess indeed for the franchise is now officially coming towards HHN 26.
So here is what will you be facing for the scares and terrors from both director’s and producer’s of the show of Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk’s anthology series for HHN 26 on both coasts at Universal Studios. The house/maze for this year will reflect on Seasons 1, 4,5, which are Murder House, Freak Show, and Hotel. Next year will be Seasons 2, 3,6, which are Asylum, Coven, and rumored for a title for Season 6 called “The Lost Colony” for this season’s premiere on September 14th according towards HHNUnofficial. It isn’t for certain if the franchise will be a multi-year deal between the contract of 20th Century Fox and Universal like for “The Walking Dead” and in terms of guessing for the future of the franchise.

“You’ll be confronted by the horrors that reside within the walls of the newly bought Harmon residence and evade the abominations that call it’s basement home.
You’ll witness the atrocities that befell many of the unfortunate souls of a roadside Freak Show and encounter Twisty, a maniacal and deformed clown performer.
Lastly, you will check into the Hotel Cortez and unlock the domain of The Countess, as she ensures your stay is anything but pleasant.
These three seasons will be vividly recreated in every detail – environments characters and moments. We’ve worked extremely close with the series creator, Ryan Murphy and 20th Century Fox, to insure it captures the series in every way possible.” according towards the Universal Orlando Resort Blog by Mike Aiello.
“American Horror Story is engaging for so many reasons, one of them being the fantastic way each installment of the series reveals completely new characters and stories for its viewers,” said Michael Aiello, Director of Entertainment Creative Development for Universal Orlando Resort. “It’s that constant evolution that makes this popular series a perfect fit for Halloween Horror Nights – and we can’t wait for our guests to experience some of the horror they’ve seen on the show.” according towards IGN.

It is a high chance that this will be a uber house and using one of the sound stages because throwing in three different seasons in terms of scale and portions is going to be massive in size of the set designs and aesthetics. You’ll be drawn into towards the intense and scariest moments from each of the seasons in the house from “American Horror Story” and hopefully not ending up like a victim on the show.
Now for HHN Hollywood fans you guys will be getting the same treatment too for “American Horror Story” since it’s a dual coast effort to put the franchise into both parks. Opening night will be by September 16th of the first night of HHN and 2 days after the premiere of Season 6 on September 14th. Here’s what Executive Director/Producer, John Murdy had to say from press release statements below about the franchise.

“American Horror Story’ is one of the most disturbing television shows ever produced, and with such perverse storylines unfolding with each installment, ‘Halloween Horror Nights’ is undoubtedly the only place that could create a living version of the nightmares that Ryan Murphy dreams up,” says Murdy.
“American Horror Story’ has been the number one requested maze from our guests and we’re excited to let them know that we listened to them and are bringing ‘American Horror Story’ to life.” said John Murdy, Creative Director at Universal Studios Hollywood and Executive Producer of Orlando’s annual Halloween-themed event according towards Fox News Travel. “Plus, as a fan favorite, American Horror Story has been the number one requested maze from our guests and we’re excited to let them know that we listened to them and are bringing American Horror Story to life.”
