SeaWorld San Antonio’s Wave Breaker Roller Coaster Opens Up June 16th

Wave Breaker: The Rescue Coaster, a jetski themed roller coaster will be opening up 9 days from now at SeaWorld San Antonio as part of SeaWorld’s roller coaster lineup on June 16th, 2017. This new kind of coaster will allow riders to grip the handle bars just like their simulating a real life jetski out on the waters with two launches throughout the whole ride.

From Emmy Award winning program of “Sea Rescue” will be the inspiration for this new kind of coaster that will engage riders to feel like of what it is like behind the scenes and racing along side SeaWorld’s animal care team and veterinarians. This new coaster will also bring awareness towards injured, sick, orphaned, and abandoned animals in our oceans as part of SeaWorld’s mission to protect these kind of animals.

“Wave Breaker takes our purpose of entertaining and inspiring our guests to the next level,” said SeaWorld San Antonio Park President Carl Lum. “The jet-ski style car design and layout of the track make Wave Breaker an exhilarating ride for thrill-seekers of all ages. For the first time, our guests will also be able to feel what it’s like to race alongside our animal care team when a call for help comes in.” 

Before boarding the jetski themed coaster, riders will be assigned a mission from the selected animals- a sea turtle, dolphin, or sea lion to embark your rescue mission and thrilling task in which majority of the coaster is over water. Each train will contain about 16 riders through a more than three minute ride, and reaching speeds of up to 44 mph and heights up to 61-feet.
