Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights Returns Back to Midsummer Scream

It’s that time year again for the 2nd annual Halloween/horror convention to kick off the season at the Long Beach Convention Center as announcements are bigger and better this year. This year is delivering the heat within the Halloween/horror industry from some of the leading companies from haunt designers, make up and special fx, and probably some of your favorite haunted events in themed entertainment industry will be there under one roof for this 2-day convention.

This year, the mastermind duo of horror at Universal Studios Hollywood for Halloween Horror Nights of Creative Director/Executive Producer, John Murdy, and Creative Art Director, Chris Williams are back in what surprises that they will deliver for their fans. The recently announced “American Horror Story: Roanoke” will be at this year’s event as a single house while Universal Hollywood’s sister park of Universal Orlando Resort will be based off the last three seasons from Ryan Murphy’s thrilling and suspenseful anthology series. Also from Stephen King’s psychological and thrilling, The Shining adapted by Stanley Kubrick will also be part of the line up for this year’s event.

 

Last year was the iconic slashers in horror for Universal Studios Hollywood from Freddy vs. Jason, Leatherface and his brother, and Michael Myers in which was one of the most strongest and solidest line up through the event’ history. Here’s more about John Murdy’s role in case your not familiar with his line of work that makes Halloween Horror Nights come to life.

“John Murdy has been responsible for the creative development of a wide variety of rides, shows, attractions and special events for Universal Studios theme parks worldwide. Most recently, John has served as creative director/producer of Universal Studios Hollywood’s “Halloween Horror Nights,” creating themed “haunted attractions” based on popular horror franchises such as The Walking Dead, Friday the 13th, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Saw, Halloween and many others. Halloween Horror Nights was recently voted, “The Best Halloween Event in America” in a national poll by Behind the Thrills.com.”

The event will kick off Sunday, July 30th, 2017 at 1:30pm and tickets are now available on sale by visiting midsummer.org.
