After a very long year in which last year Disney officially released their plans for a new 4 diamond hotel coming towards the Disneyland Resort in the coming future. At the given time in which Disney didn’t announce the details in terms of what the theme or what will it be when they unveiled their plans last year in June. The plans were filed for a new location and will be located at 1401 Disneyland Drive for this brand new 4 diamond hotel.
Well with a big announcement today and coming out of the resort in which we have official details and concept art of what the hotel will look like. The concept art that was released at the given time last year was a potential earlier released concept art before Disney decided on the finalized concept art of the hotel. Here’s some of those image down below from last year of the new hotel.

Disneyland’s newest addition for the hotel and it has been a very long time for them in over 20 years for the hospitality business and is scheduled to open up in 2021 according from what the OC Register reported last year. Construction would break ground in Summer 2018 with 10 acres with a proposed of 700-rooms and a parking structure. The hotel is estimate to boost guest attendance once Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge opens up in 2019 first at Disneyland and then opening second at Disney’s Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World. This will transform the West End of the Downtown Disney District and anchor a new gateway towards the Disneyland Resort much like how Disney’s Grand Californian Spa & Resort does towards Disney California Adventure.
This sophisticated design will be a game-changer for the city of Anaheim to create dynamic dining, entertainment, and a new hotel experience between visiting and local visitors. With water elements and extensive landscaping to create a resort oasis, showcasing nature on every level of the hotel. This will also be a new location for the iconic monorail with a dedicated platform inside of the hotel for a direct access into the Disneyland Park.
The new hotel will connect of all four Hotels of the Disneyland Resort through lush gardens and beautifully landscaped walkways in transforming the gateway on the west side and creating a welcoming entry for guests staying or visiting at the Disneyland Resort.

The guest rooms, public spaces and gardens will give the range of views of the Downtown Disney District with an addition, of an upper-level restaurant and lounge to give guests a view of the popular Disneyland park fireworks. Shown in the concept art up above for the upper-level restaurant and lounge area.
However though, there is a downfall for this newest addition for this hotel and in which Downtown Disney will be losing some of their shops, entertainment, and restaurants in the West End of the district that are shown in the concept released by Disney. The OC Register spoke towards Disneyland representatives and confirmed in which Rainforest Cafe, ESPN Zone, an AMC Theater, Earl of Sandwhich, and Starbucks cafe will be taken over for the new hotel addition.
Disneyland officials made a comment and said that “they are beginning to inform the affected tenants of the resort’s plans and there’s a possibility some of them may operate inside of the hotel.” So it seems not all so bad if some of the business decide to operate inside of the hotel due towards the construction and could see them return in the years to come or when the hotel opens up. This new hotel addition will create a good amount of benefits for the local community of Anaheim and generating approximately $25 million in new taxes in its first five years of operation that go directly to Anaheim’s general fund.
This will also create thousands of additional construction and permanent jobs to attract new hotel guests to the resort area. Disney hasn’t officially announced the name of the new hotel or what the theme is yet but, from what the OC Register reported last year in June for room rates could be about $450 dollars a night. In order to receive the AAA four-diamond rating in which Disney must spend at least $225,000 per guest room, including $30,000 in furniture, fixtures and equipment in each room.
