Disney’s Animal Kingdom Celebrates The 2019 Holidays In A Whole New Way At Walt Disney World

Starting this year at Disney’s Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World will be celebrating the holidays in a whole brand new with new entertainment, and holiday decor in every section of the park. It begins when you enter Discovery Island to find yourself in the celebration of winter, hand-crafted by eclectic community of artists that call their island home.

Filled with colorful, animal-inspired luminaries line the rooftops, and wireframe lanterns in the shape of beautiful birds can be found perched throughout the area. Discovery Island during the daytime comes to life with holiday gathering of winter animals, realized in the form of life-size, artisan-sculpted puppets. Reindeer, foxes, polar bears, penguins and more interact with guests, accompanied by serenading musicians as they create a playful atmosphere of festive fun.

When nighttime approaches, the rooftop luminaries and bird lanterns all around Discovery Island to bring a comfortable feeling towards the village. The Tree of Life will illuminate with a series of wintry tales by a familiar and heartwarming holiday-inspired musical score.

Dinoland U.S.A. will offer up fellow Disney character friends for Donald’s Dino-Bash! to get guests into the spirit of the holidays that will be filled with colorful decorations in the style of Donald Duck and his pals. At night will offer, the Truck-O-Saurus for the Holiday Hoopla Dance Party with Chip ‘n Dale and plenty of interactive fun and games.

Over in Asia of the park, the residents of Anandapur have decorated the theatre district in celebration of the Hindu holiday of “Diwali” that is celebrated in India. Featuring glowing flowers, lanterns and more illuminate the square between Anandapur Theater and the waterfront stage, home to authentic cultural performances.

The Harambe village in Africa will off a unique holiday presentation, with the blending of inspiration and style of western traditions with the colors and textiles of authentic African celebrations.

The various groups appearing throughout Harambe introduce holiday-inspired enhancements, including costume additions and new music, to their performances. The holiday fun continues inside Tusker House for dining with Disney friends, where Mickey and his pals spread holiday cheer throughout the meal.

Lastly, the Pandora: The World of Avatar are also celebrating the holidays on the planet of Pandora from James Cameron’s blockbuster hit of Avatar (2009). The planet will bring a little Christmastime fun to their alien home, with a display at Pongu Pongu of kitschy holiday décor, combining vintage pieces from Earth with items handcrafted from materials indigenous to Pandora.

The holidays at Disney’s Animal Kingdom will begin on November 8th, 2019 at Walt Disney World and rest of the Disney World theme parks and resorts.
