As this site has been covering the highly immersive, Star Wars hotel experience for a while now that is set to be opening up at Walt Disney World at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in a galaxy far, far away as Disney have officially announced will be opening up some point in 2021 from Walt Disney Imagineering this evening.
The news was shared previously at the D23 Expo 2019 on the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser in which Disney describes it as:
“Will be a new, first-of-its-kind vacation experience where guests will check in for a two-night adventure aboard a glamorous starship. Once onboard, guests will interact with characters and become active participants in stories that unfold around them on their galactic journey.”
Disney also shared some newly released concept art when you first arrive on the Galactic Starcrusier for your vacation and will enter through The Galactic Starcruiser Terminal to begin your Star Wars experience.
Here’s how Disney describes it themselves:
“Whether you show up via personal vehicle, Disney transportation or by landspeeder, curb-side check-in prepares you to leave Earth behind, jump to lightspeed and begin your Star Wars story. From the Starcruiser Terminal, you will enter an exclusive launch pod for travel up to the Halcyon, your starcruiser in a galaxy far, far away. Through the pod’s viewports, it looks as though you are traveling through space to approach the massive ship that is much too large to land on any planet.”
A “spaceport of call” back towards Black Spire Outpost will be included in your itinerary where a special passenger transports you planet Batuu (or known as Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios).
The Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser will fully immerse guests between the hotel experience at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge for the 14-acre expansion at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. You’ll remain fully in-story as you step aboard the transport ships designed specifically for this new immersive experience.
