Walt Disney World Gets More New Details For The 50th Anniversary

As we previously got a taste earlier this year for what’s ahead for Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary, as more Disney Parks magical goodness got announced! From Good Morning America’s reveal as guests can expect a lot more new entertainment offerings and much more this fall.

Disney announced a lot to unpack and let’s break it down to each park!

Disney’s Magic Kingdom:

The resort hasn’t had any nighttime fireworks in a over year, as of recent as Disney announced those are coming back on July 1st. Now looking ahead as a brand new nighttime spectacular, “Disney Enchantment”. This will be all ready to go on October 1st and it will be similar towards “Mickey’s Mix Magic” at Disneyland Resort.

Here’s how Disney described it as:

“Created to launch with “The World’s Most Magical Celebration,” this evening extravaganza will take you on a journey filled with adventure, wonder and empowerment. Inspiring everyone to believe in magic, “Disney Enchantment” will feature music, enhanced lighting, stunning fireworks and, for the first time, immersive projection effects that extend from Cinderella Castle down Main Street, U.S.A.”

As your hosts of the 50th anniversary celebration that will be 18th months long, will be of course no other than Mickey and Minnie. The duo and their friends will be all festive in their new EARidescent 50th anniversary outfits. Chip ‘n’ Dale also will be joining on the 50th anniversary fun their own custom-made EARidescent outfits as well.

Also a brand new daytime entertainment offering will be available on October 1st, “Mickey’s Celebration Cavalcade.” It will be performing several times daily.

The Main Street U.S.A Hub is also getting some 50th anniversary flair. Special golden characters statues for the 50th anniversary will be at the park. Over 50 characters total for this series of sculptures that will be all over Walt Disney World’s four theme parks. Being dubbed as the “Disney Fab 50” for these builds that will be shared at later time for details. Guests can also interact with them to.

Epcot:

As one of the largest nighttime spectualars ever created for Disney Parks, for “Harmonious” will be ready to go on October 1st! Even thought Disney fans make the meme jokes out of it at Epcot and this will be largest one at the World Showcase lagoon. In celebration of Disney music that inspires people around the world.

Embracing new technical magic and will incorporate pyrotechnics, choreographed moving fountains, lighting and media in new ways. Traveling across the globe with new interpretations of classic Disney songs that hasn’t been done before hand.

It will be reimagined in more than a dozen languages by a diverse group of 240 artists from around the world.

Epcot will be also the one of the four parks to get a “Beacon of Light” as Walt Disney Imagineering has been installing LEDs to make it dazzle.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom:

Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be also getting some new daytime entertainment! Being called “Disney KiteTails”, that will be performing several times daily at the Discovery River Amphitheater. This will be also ready on October 1st, 2021.

Here’s the description from Disney:

“Performers will fly windcatchers and kites of all shapes and sizes, while out on the water elaborate three-dimensional kites – some stretching to 30 feet long – will depict Disney animal friends, including Simba, Zazu, Baloo and King Louie. These colorful creations will dance through the sky to the beat of favorite Disney songs in an uplifting, vibrant experience for the whole family.”

The park was in need of some new entertainment upgrades ever since of Rivers of Light was ended last year. As in more recent as the Festival of the Lion King debuted last month and this new daytime show will be one of many entertainment offerings coming back online.

Miscellaneous:

For those who are fellow Disney book collectors, as this fall for something new to take home with. Available on September 28th, 2021 for “Walt Disney World: A Portrait of the First Half Century” from the Disney Editions. This will be an insider’s look at the history and evolution of Walt Disney World, written by Kevin Kern, Tim O’Day and Steven Vagnini. Forward by Disney Chairman and CEO, Bob Chapek.

It’s going to be a lot to be jam packed for the 50th anniversary looking ahead at Walt Disney World. As some normalcy is coming back to life again, after being taken away last year as traveling is starting to increase for this year.
