After being on hold for a year due towards the pandemic, as Halloween time is coming back to the Disneyland!

For a long awaited return as the resort will be offering some spooky fun for all guests ages 3 and up. Dates this year are from September 3rd to October 31st, 2021, at both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. Downtown Disney District will be getting into the festive fun from September 9th to October 31st, 2021. It will have decor, treats and a brand new themed pumpkin hunt, Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit.
Here’s what guests can expect ahead for some “foolish mortal” fun!
Disney California Adventure
The return of “Oogie Boogie Bash” based off of Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas will greet guests towards the entrance of the park. If you have been towards the event in the past and will use his magic spell to grant the Halloween season. Over at Cars Land at Radiator Springs or being dubbed as Radiator Screams.

“Residents decorate their homes with frights and delights for a unique Haul-O-Ween makeover. Lightning McQueen, Mater, Cruz and Red will be ready to greet guests in their “car-stumes” before they race off to go “trunk-or-treating.”
The return for attractions such as Mater’s Graveyard JamBooree and Luigi’s Rolickin’ Roadsters that will be transformed into Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween. Another popular attraction for Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout! will be transformed into Monsters After Dark.
“An exciting Halloween adventure filled with creepy creatures and thrilling drops. While the Guardians of the Galaxy have successfully escaped The Collector’s Fortress, Groot was accidentally left behind. Guests can successfully complete their rescue mission to save Groot by helping Rocket distract creatures from around the galaxy that have gotten loose. By teaming up with the Guardians, every guest can find their inner hero this Halloween season.”
Buena Vista Street will have Mickey and his pals to be throwing it back towards old-school Halloween costumes. Guests can see fortune teller Minnie Mouse or with photo ops with Daisy Duck for her witching costume. Donald will be having his devilish look and Goofy to have a ghostly appearance to him.
Carthay Circle Restaurant‘s facade will be also bringing back some Halloween magic. As bats warm, energy pulses from within and projections light up the iconic tower structure with a spellbinding display. Even more photo ops with a giant 10-foot tall statue of the Headless Horseman and holding his jack-o-lantern head to the sky.
Plaza de la Familia Returns
Also over at Disney California Adventure will be the return of Plaza de La Familia that is located at the Paraside Gardens. Dates are from September to November 2nd, 2021.

“An immersive limited-time celebration honors the spirit of Dia de los Muertos, with entertainment, festive foods, crafts and interactive experiences. Among the activities to enjoy are “A Musical Celebration of Coco,” an entertaining street show honoring Disney and Pixar’s “Coco” and the everlasting bonds of family. Guests at this seasonal festivity also will be treated to Mariachi music at Paradise Gardens Bandstand; The World of Coco, an evocative art exhibit; a photo opportunity with a hand-animated figure of Miguel from “Coco” as well as the iconic Arbol de la Vida (Tree of Life) photo location and memory wall.”
Avengers Campus
For guests that do attend Oogie Boogie Bash will also able to explore the Avengers Campus. Even can able to see Doctor Strange and Guardians of the Galaxy and fellow Marvel heroes. Most areas at the park will remain open for the Halloween event and giving all the seasonal fun towards all familes.
Disneyland
Disney fan favorite characters will be also making a comeback! Over at Main Street U.S.A. as Mickey and his friends will be showing off their Halloween attire. Minnie as a witch, Donald dressed up as a pumpkin and much more. Other characters even include Disney villians and have come out to cause some other badness.
The Main Street Pumpkin Festival will transform Main Street U.S.A. with whimsical pumpkins. Many of them will be displayed at store fronts that guests can see. Also a Disneyland seasonal staple is the Mickey Mouse jack-o’-lantern. Numerous pumpkin statues that represent the parks lands from; Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, Adventureland, Critter Country and Frontierland. All of them will be surronding the Partner’s statue in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle.

Another tradition attraction is the return of Haunted Mansion Holiday! The layover of where Jack Skellington takes over behind the spooky festive touches inspired from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas.
“Dedicated fans of the holiday house will look forward to spotting the annual bespoke gingerbread house on its precarious perch on the ballroom table, making its 20th appearance for this collision of two holidays. Other favorite sights await, including Sally, Zero and other characters from the movie.”

Every night from September 3rd to October 31st at Disneyland park will enjoy a new treat in form of “Halloween Screams”.
Here’s what guests can expect:
“A supernatural projection and special effects show. On weekend nights, “Halloween Screams” also will take to the skies and enhance the mischief with fireworks. Guests will be able to view the spectacular from several different locations throughout the park, including Main Street, U.S.A., Sleeping Beauty Castle and near “it’s a small world.”
Frontierland will be celebrating the Day of the Day (Día de los Muertos) to feature a musical trio of iconic skeleton figurines, brightly colored flowers and other decorative items.
As of course for retail locations will be offered for both parks for seasonal merchandise. Guests can wear their costumes and be sure to follow under Disneyland’s policy by clicking here. Even including food and beverage locations for some Halloween themed snacks and dishes.
Entertainment And More
The Frightfully Fun Parade also makes a come back with the Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow! Another seasonal offering for him arriving on his ghostly black horse as the opener, just ahead of the parade and carrying his flickering jack-o’-lantern. A cavalcade of Disney characters and even the villains follow, ready to stir up some trouble.

Villains Groveat the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail, “Mickey’s Trick & Treat” show and more will be also returning back.
