Ever since it was announced back the Destination D23 Expo with Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Chairman, Josh D’Amaro in which Disneyland is brining back it’s entertainment back online. So far the resort has brought back “Disney Junior Dance Party!” at Disney California Adventure, guests meeting Raya from Disney Animation’s Raya and the Last Dragon during Lunar New Year from Shanghai Disneyland at the Redwood Creek Challenge Trail at Disney California Adventure. Also to top it off with “Celebrate Soulfully” entertainment in honor of the heritage and celebration of Black History Month for February.

Disney has finally announced the return of the 50th anniversary for the “Main Street Electrical Light Parade”, “World of Color”, “Disneyland Forever” and “Fantasmic!”. Here’s what you need to know for these guest favorites coming back online!
The “Main Street Electrical Light Parade” and “Disneyland Forever” fireworks (from Disneyland’s 60th anniversary) will be coming back on April 22nd, 2022. Meanwhile for “Fantasmic!” at Disneyland and “World of Color” at Disney California Adventure will be coming back on May 28th, 2022. However though as the “Main Street Electrical Light Parade” is getting a total revamp from Disney Parks Live Entertainment to feature new elements. Over the past five decades this nighttime spectacular has brought families together from Walt Disney World and Disneyland together.

Here’s how Disney officially described it as:
“This universal theme is reflected in the creative concept of the grand finale sequence. Inspired by both the original design of classic “Main Street Electrical Parade” floats and Disney Legend Mary Blair’s iconic art style on “it’s a small world,” the new grand finale brings to life more than a dozen Disney Animation and Pixar stories. These stories will be interpreted in thousands of sparkling lights and electro-synthe-magnetic musical sound, with unique representations of beloved characters as animated dolls.”
“As the new grand finale passes by, guests along each side of the parade route will see a different set of stylized scenes from classic and contemporary favorite stories such as “Encanto,” “The Jungle Book,” “Raya and the Last Dragon,” “Aladdin,” “Coco,” “Mulan,” “Brave,” “The Princess and the Frog” and more. Check out one of the early pieces of concept art, featuring Mirabel and Antonio from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Academy Award-nominated film, “Encanto.”
Disney Parks
With the diversity and inclusion that is a huge company culture aspect that The Walt Disney Company introduced last year. As the nighttime parade will feature your favorite characters from the animated films you love and enjoy. Some of the stats for the changes that will range from the Blue Fairy to Sleeping Beauty Castle, will compress up to seven different segments. Stretching up to 118 feet in length, making it one of the longest and grandest units in the whole 50 year history of the parade.

Also just to fully clarify, as the “Main Street Electrical Light Parade” and “Disneyland Forever” will be a “limited run” at Disneyland Park. “Disneyland Forever” will run weekends (Friday through Sunday), while “Mickey’s Magic Mix” for it’s highly energetic map projections will run during weekdays (Monday through Thursday) until late spring. At that time, “Disneyland Forever” fireworks will then run nightly in the summer. “World of Color” and “Fantasmic!” will return to their regular schedule upon reopening.

Disney will share more updates within the coming weeks for entertainment offerings for these guest favorite nighttime spectaculars for the Disneyland Resort.
