Just recently that, news broke out the Main Street Electrical Light Parade is coming to an end this coming October 9th at the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. Being reported by WDWNT that entertainment cast members contracts will not be renewed. The night-time parade will be relocating towards Disneyland as being confirmed on the Disney Parks Blog for a limited time since it first appeared 20 years ago.
“The quintessential Disney Parks nighttime parade, the Main Street Electrical Parade began at Disneyland park in 1972, shining brightly in the memories of thousands of Disneyland park guests until the end of its initial run in 1996. It returned to the Disneyland Resort as Disney’s Electrical Parade, bringing magical Disney stories to Disney California Adventure park from 2001 until 2010, when it crossed the country to begin its most recent run at Walt Disney World Resort.” according towards the Disney Parks Blog for its background history of the parade.
As for “Paint the Night” on the opposite coast in Disneyland that was for 60th Diamond Celebration will continue its run till September 5th and will return on selected nights during the holiday nights throughout this year. In which leaves Walt Disney World at the Magic Kingdom with no night-time parade.
In which some fans were thinking that “Paint the Night” was coming towards the east coast for the Magic Kingdom’s 45th anniversary as a rumor guess but, no confirmation beyond this point until more information is released than.
So what do I think about this news? I am somewhat glad it’s leaving because it will give the locals and there AP holder visitors at Disneyland to get their nostalgia fix on. But it leaves the Magic Kingdom with nothing and only matter of time of what’s next for a new or old nighttime parade.
