Any of us who has been towards the Walt Disney World Parks always wonder the possibilities of what the icon at Epcot of Spaceship Earth could turn into from Walt Disney Imagineering’s creativity. Well if your a Star Wars fan like myself and have always wanted this dream to become true then, your in for a long awaited dream to become into a reality that starting tomorrow night on Monday, December 5, 2016 that there will be a Disney Parks Blog after hours special at Epcot and will be officially live streamed on the blog starting at 10:25pm EST.
Just a UPDATE that this event is already reached it’s capacity that sign ups and emails were already filled up during this weekend (Friday) and more quicker like light speed through the Star Wars universe and keep posted on the Disney Parks Blog for more later on event opportunities. Before the start of the after hours meet up at Epcot that they will be “sharing updates on current and upcoming Star Wars experiences at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.” and this could be possibilities of sharing more information or anything about the upcoming Star Wars expansion at the park.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is set to hit theaters this coming December 16th, 2016 which is the first independent Star Wars film in the cinematic universe and this a great marketing and promotional event to hype up big or casual fans of the Lucasfilm franchise. From now on that we are pretty much getting a new Star Wars independent film ever year with a new episode every 2 years that Star Wars: Episode 8 will hit theaters next year December 2017.
Now just a side statement here that, they are not changing the classic fan favorite of Spaceship Earth at Epcot and there is no plans or confirmation on the Disney Parks Blog about it. It’s just a one night only map projection-overylay of the park’s icon since it looks too good to be true to fit the giant base-weapon of a projection on the attraction. This will be similar towards the promotion of the “Monstrous Summer” 24-hour event from 2013 with the projections Mike and Sully from Monsters University and Monsters Inc.
Since this is a one night only event it’s still pretty cool that fans of the franchise have been wanting this for a while now and for a massive pop culture IP like Star Wars that, Disney knows how to answer and please there fans for doing this for them.
