It’s been a crazy week between the Volcano Bay and Pandora: The World of Avatar media previews between Disney and Universal for the holiday weekend for Memorial Day. Disney held their formal ceremony yesterday before the official grand opening of the Pandora expansion at Disney’s Animal Kingdom this upcoming Saturday on May 27th, 2017.
Highlights included with Director/Creator of Avatar, James Cameron, Jon Landau as the executive producer of the film, Chairman & CEO, Bob Iger of The Walt Disney Company, and Zoe Saldana who played Neytiri in Avatar and Gamora from Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy films. Chairman Iger described the world of Pandora being “powerful” and features Disney’s most advanced and technological attraction that they ever created.
Flight of Passage takes guests on back of a Banshee flying experience through the floating mountains of Pandora and feels like a Banshee is breathing on the bottom of your legs.
“We found at Disney that technology can be a real friend in keeping the company relevant and reaching more people in ways that feel contemporary to them,” Iger said.
The company is also in the works of making the Star Wars franchise in Disneyland and Walt Disney World parks into themed lands opening some point in 2019 and also Toy Story at Disney’s Hollywood Studios that will be announced at the D23 2017 Expo this coming July for a opening date.
