As many brand new and exciting projects are being released as part of the Epcot overhaul project in which two more attractions will be added, one towards Future World and one towards World Showcase. One will be from the oddity and action/comedy group of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy and Disney/Pixar’s “Ratatouille” at Epcot at the Walt Disney World Resort. First off for Guardians of the Galaxy, will be the replacement of Ellen’s Universe of Energy to be part of the original vision of Epcot as guests can experience adventure and exploration of space travel.
Permits were filed back in May of this year by the South Florida Water Management District and when it was still being reported as rumors and speculation of what it could be. Now since the space traveling group of the Guardians is confirmed, here’s some of the details about it. Since the recently opened Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout! opened up this year at Disney California Adventure park, that these were in-depth stories and continuation of the Guardians universe.
“Epcot’s brand new E-ticket attraction will be based on the rockin’ and action-packed world of “Guardians of the Galaxy” and is the next step in how guests can encounter these characters at the Walt Disney World Resort. Epcot just may be the perfect place for a “Guardians”-inspired attraction as you can see in the photo above – Peter Quill (aka Star Lord) actually visited Epcot as a kid!”
The Universe of Energy for it’s last day of operations will be this August 13th, 2017 and the same day as “The Great Movie Ride’ at Disney’s Hollywood Studios for the replacement of “Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway”. Now switching over towards Disney/Pixar’s “Ratatouille” will be brought over from Disneyland Paris that opened up at Walt Disney Studios Park in 2014.
This will be similar towards the 4-D attraction of Ratatouille: The Attraction and guests will be shrunk down towards Remy’s size and scurry to safety in a dazzling chase across a kitchen with the sights, sounds, and smells of Chef Gusteau’s legendary Parisian restaurant. Disney Leaders, according towards them said that both attractions will be open up just in time for the 50th anniversary of the Walt Disney World Resort in 2021.
