Last month in which Disney announced a brand new area coming towards Disney’s Hollywood about the Grand Avenue that will be themed towards modern Downtown Los Angeles and takeover the former Writer’s Stop and will now be the BaseLine Tap House. Many Disney fans are well aware that two new lands of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and Toy Story that is opening in Summer 2018 for Toy Story and Star Wars some point in 2019.
Now they’re wasn’t much detail except for the Tap House as a “cheerful pub” opening up but, today in which Disney officially confirmed that the Grand Avenue will be opening up this coming and some point in the Fall. The Muppets Courtyard and some part of the former Streets of America are being re imagined as the Grand Avenue area and the Muppets Courtyard will become the “Grand Park” of an urban square off near the Grand Avenue.

Shops and restaurants like PizzeRizzo and Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano will be surrounded by this area. The Muppet-vision 3-D show has been renamed as the Grand Arts Theatre and has a brand new marquee. Muppet-vision will still hold their showings despite the under going renovations of the park’s area. Now it’s quite possible that the Grand Avenue area will help out and separate the crowd congestion once both Toy Story and Star Wars opens up coming down the line within the next 2 years. Another option that the Grand Avenue area will be a holding area and let certain waves of guests to get into both of those lands since, so many will be trying to get in and try out the new attractions and experiences for these highly two anticipated attractions.
Back in the earlier years of when Disney’s Hollywood Studios (former Disney’s MGM Studios) that their was original concept plans of adding a Muppet-themed land called “Muppet Studios”. The plans were never came to life since due towards the passing of the creator of The Muppets, Jim Henson and only leaving Muppet-Vision 3-D as a standalone attraction. Streets of America and the Backlot Tour came down the line and took over of what the Muppet expansion originally was and both Streets of America and the Backlot Tour helped to flow out the crowd control levels.
