Universal Studios Hollywood Goes Back Towards It’s Roots With Universal Monsters Featuring Slash

As they say in the horror genre “when things go bump in the night” then there is something lurking in the shadows to come out and terrify you! For this year’s and final maze announcement at Halloween Horror Nights 28′ at Universal Studios Hollywood will be going back where the horror genre all started for Universal’s classic and iconic monsters.

The monsters you love and know featuring Dracula, Frankenstein, The Wolf Man and many others will be inside of the maze and honoring the legacy of what Universal Studios has done for inventing the horror genre. Here’s what you can expect when you visit Universal Studios Hollywood’s event for their Halloween Horror Nights-

“Inspired by Universal’s legendary horror films, the Universal Monsters maze—featuring an original score produced and composed by GRAMMY® Award-winning musician, SLASH—will shake horror fans to the core with a petrifying modern rendition.

After decades of rot and decay as they lay mouldering in their graves, the Universal Monsters’ disdain for the living has risen to a bloodthirsty, all consuming level! Invade their eternal resting place and witness the bone-chilling resurrection of Frankenstein’s Monster, Dracula, The Phantom of the Opera and The Wolf Man, among others. As they rise from the dead, thirsty for revenge, you will fall victim to the terrifying images and stories that helped invent the horror film genre.”

This maze will be a reimagined twist of these beloved monsters characters when Universal Pictures introduced them on the screen in the 1920s from any of them you can think of. Grammy Award-Winning musician, Slash will provide a complex composition towards the original score he created with the Universal Creative teams to experience a haunting dimension.

“As a fan of horror movies and of Halloween Horror Nights, I jumped at the chance to once again collaborate with Universal Studios Hollywood to produce what might be interpreted as a soundtrack for the maze,” said SLASH. “Similar to the way music affects a film, I wanted to compose a score for the legions of infamous characters featured in the maze to elicit a greater sense of terror for the guests. In the end, the goal is to ultimately make the guests feel as if they are playing an integral role in a classic Monster movie.”

“This maze is the ultimate melding of two of history’s greatest icons – classic monsters and the top guitar player of all time,” said John Murdy, Creative Director at Universal Studios Hollywood and Executive Producer of Halloween Horror Nights. “SLASH’s intuitive understanding of the characters’ struggles brings enormous depth to the maze to epitomize a living-movie experience for our guests.”
