Mickey is going all in for his 90th birthday tomorrow and coming soon will be more Mickey Mouse additions being added towards Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Disney Parks, Experiences and Consumer Products Chairman Bob Chapek shared details of these exciting additions coming towards the park at Walt Disney World at today’s Destination D event.
Here’s what to expect:
Chapek first shared, that a brand new nighttime and all new-cinematic experience called “Wonderful World of Animation” which will debut at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in May 2019 as part of the park’s 30th anniversary celebration.
“The show will use state-of-the-art projection technology. to take guests on a magical journey through more than 90 years of Disney animation, all beginning with Mickey himself.” Check out the concept art down below.

Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway is still under construction that replaced the Great Movie Ride last year and the Imagineers have been hard at work for this first ever Mickey attraction using groundbreaking technology. This attraction will put the guests through the screen into a two-dimensional cartoon into a real-world immersive environment.

“The first-ever ride-through attraction themed to Mickey Mouse will feature a new original story and lovable theme song as it takes guests on a journey inside the wacky and unpredictable world of Disney Channel’s Emmy Award-winning “Mickey Mouse” cartoon shorts.”
Chapek didn’t confirm an opening date but, did say that construction is expected to be completed in Fall 2019 or hopefully before the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge for Late Fall 2019.
