Both Disney and the Oriental Land Company announced an exciting update towards the “New Fantasyland” project for it’s grand opening for it’s guests opening up on April 15th, 2020. The project first broke grounds back in 2017 as this has been a huge expansion for Tokyo Disneyland that has been in the making for a while now.
Some of the new experiences and attractions coming towards the resort for 2020 that will be part of the expansion will be; “Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast”, the “Fantasyland Forest Theatre” and the “The Happy Ride with Baymax” for the first ever Big Hero 6 attraction.

“Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast” will immerse guests as tale old as time for entering Belle’s village in France that will feature Maurice’s Cottage, Gaston’s fountain, restaurants and shops. Just peaking over the forest will be Beast’s castle from Beauty & the Beast which will hold the attraction where guests will be sent on a musical journey in vehicles that dance in rhythm towards the music from the film. This will be a floorless dark ride attraction to sing along with your favorite songs from the film.

The “Fantasyland Forest Theatre” will be the first full-scale indoor theatre at Tokyo Disneyland and details have not been announced for what type of show will be inside of the theatre so stayed tuned for details.


“The Happy Ride with Baymax” for everyone’s health care companion to help satisfy with their care for an attraction that swings them around and around. This will be the same ride system as Alien Swirling Saucers at Walt Disney World and Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree at Cars Land at Disney California Adventure.

Brand new additions in Tomorrowland and Toontown will be opening up on the same day as well with the new expansion. Popcorn lovers will be getting a brand new popcorn shop, “The Big Pop” that will offer multiply popcorn flavors and buckets for one of the resort’s most famous snacks.


Over at Toontown, “Minnie’s Style Studio” will be getting her own meet and greet area for the first time ever for the resort as guests will able to meet Minnie Mouse which makes both Mickey and Minnie have their own separate areas to meet guests.


The total investment is a 75 billion yen ($695 million USD) over the course of three years for build this project as this one of the largest investments between Disney and The Oriental Land Company.
