As of currently the ongoing transformation for Mickey’s Toontown is well underway at the Disneyland Resort in which, the neighborhood that Mickey and Minnie along with their friends call home. As it will reopen up in Early 2023 with a wide atmosphere for vibrant symphony of sights, sounds and sensations. The reimagined land will feature and focus on some all-new experiences and interactive play for guests, with a focus on family and young children.

Walt Disney Imagineering are tackling a different approach for Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway, and building everything from scratch for the Disneyland Resort. The attraction will have similar and different show scene sequences for their version. It first launched at Walt Disney World at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in March 2020 right before the height of the pandemic.
The El CapiTOON Theater, where a special exhibit created by the Toontown Hysterical Society is celebrating all things Mickey with costumes and props from the toon world. The exhibit will feature several classic Mickey Mouse animation short films that guests may recognize from “Steamboat Willie” “Plane Crazy” and all the way up towards the modern favorites such as “Mickey’s Christmas Carol’ and the iconic music releases as well.

Expanding the legacy of Mickey’s Toontown, when re-entering the land as there will be more opportunities for families to play together. It will have newly open, grassy play spaces for everyone to unplug. Disney has stated that they are “stepping in a new era of inclusive experiences in this land, for families of all ages”.

Goofy’s How-to-Play Yard is getting some upgrades for guests to enjoy. Goofy’s neck of the woods will be dedicated to all things play, where the soft, spongy ground is the perfect place for youngsters to enjoy a fun, enclosed area. He encourages his son, Max, and all his friends to play the Goofy way.

Based on this new piece of concept art, as Goofy’s How-To-Play Yard, and will be one of the whimsical areas as a playful sound garden. Adults can take a rest while their little ones discover all the fun and wacky sounds the garden makes. They’ll also have a chance to explore an all-new, elevated clubhouse. Inside of Goofy’s house and has a candy-making machine that he designed himself.

Also if you were worried about Donald’s Boat, as don’t worry that’s being saved and reimagined. His boat has crashed in the duck pond of the Goof homestead! Around Donald’s Duck Pond are larger-than-life spinning water lilies, balance beams and rocking toys that will keep adventurous kids busy. And for those who like a little splash in their step, a flood of fun awaits.

Another detail worth noting is that Daisy’s Diner will become Café Daisy. The location will take over space for the land’s quick service food stands, Pluto’s Dog House and Clarabelle’s ice cream. The Daisy Duck-themed sidewalk eatery will serve “dinner classics.” Next door, the Good Boy Grocers Market themed to Mickey’s dog Pluto will sell grab-and-go drinks and snacks.
