More then a year later today and in which more information was released on the Universal Orlando Blog about the Nintendo and Universal partnership coming towards Universal Studios Japan, Hollywood, & Orlando. You can read some of the fun and exciting details shared on there blog (here) about what Universal guests can expect later on for the Nintendo expansions between Japan and the United States:
“Imagine the fun of stepping into a larger-than-life Nintendo adventure. Gigantic Piranha Plants spring to life. Question blocks, power-ups and more surround you. And Mario and all his friends are there to pull you into a brand-new world.”
“These will be expansive, immersive and interactive. They’ll be highly themed and authentic environments filled with multiple attractions, shops and restaurants.”
“You’ll feel as if you’re playing inside your favorite games – in real life.”
“There will be something for everyone—regardless of their age or gaming experience level.”
“Planning and creative work on these areas is well underway; they will open separately over the next several years.”
The two teams are hard at work in creating the expansions of the universal worlds that Nintendo has created in the past and working with Universal Creative Entertainment in bringing them to life. With the creative talents of game designer and producer, Shigeru Miyamoto and Mark Woodbury, President of Universal Creative for potential ideas and designs that there guests can be excited for later to come. “The goal of everyone on this project is clear: to bring the characters, action and adventure of Nintendo video games to life within Universal theme parks. And to do so in new and innovative ways that capture what makes them so special.” according towards the Universal Orlando Blog for the vision to make the worlds of Nintendo to become realistic.
In the United States for Universal Orlando and Hollywood that there is no confirmed or specific areas mentioned for the Nintendo location. However and it’s been rumored through the rumor mill for a while now that, the KidZone area at Universal Orlando to be replaced for it’s first Nintendo location and also a chance or not of replacing the classic opening day attraction of E.T.. Universal Hollywood applies the same as well for no confirmed location and if it were for my guess I would have to say the lower lot for the potential space vs the upper lot cause it’s built on a mountain.

Now this where things get really interesting for Universal Studios Japan in Osaka for the time frame of the opening of the expansion and could be a fair chance or not for the same opening time frame for Universal Parks in the United States too. Now also keep in mind that the announcement made from today that there was no opening date confirmed and is all just guessing that we were building off from here and know about the Nintendo expansions for Universal Parks.
It has been reported for a while now and according towards Kotaku back in March that the goal is be open before or during the Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo by 2020 to draw in visitors and athletes towards the park. Universal Japan’s project for Nintendo would be about 40 billion yen in which would be around $351 million USD and would cost more and to be the same scale size for “The Wizarding World of Harry Potter” expansion and attraction in July 2014.
If this were the case that this would be a very successful and a historical dual country opening for Nintendo by the Summer Games in Tokyo 2020 between Japan and the United States but, this all just guessing and not confirmed if this would happen between Nintendo and Universal between both countries.
