The summer season at Disney California Adventure is starting to come soon and Marvel’s takeover of Summer of Heroes and The Collector’s Fortress will be opening up on May 27th, 2017. The Collector’s Fortress will be from the odd and comedic space gang of Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol.2 as Rocket tasks on a dangerous mission to breakout the Guardians entitled Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout!
This was the former home of the popular classic of the 1930s attraction of The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror before the Marvel take over that was announced last year at San Diego Comic Con. Today the Disney Parks Blog released full official images of the facade of what the Marvel attraction is going to look like this summer that will still use the same Tower of Terror drop mechanics.
Here’s some details about it and before and after the Marvel transformation:
“The fortress shimmers with colorful and sparkling details; pipes cross and climb the exterior, carrying the organic matter the Tivan Group has mined to power the massive generator that powers the entire building, keeping every cage locked and the valuable collection secure. Rising and falling gantry lifts peek out of doors exposed through the corroded, burnt metal, and it even looks as if the structure may have taken laser fire and blasts. Has someone tried to attack the facility?”
