We are just on the eve before this year’s D23 Expo kicks off and the hours are literally ticking away before the floodgates open up towards D23 members and the general public. Tonight some really lucky folks who attended the media preview got to see a full scale-model and the pavilion for the highly anticipated Star Wars expansions, coming towards Disney Parks at the Disneyland and Walt Disney World Resorts.
Chairman and CEO, Bob Iger of The Walt Disney Company announced these two highly expansions at the last D23 Expo back in 2015 in creating immersive and highly believable worlds based on, one of pop-culture’s iconic franchises. Some details were recently shared at this year’s Star Wars Celebration in Orlando this past April and hopefully more of those details will be announced at the Disney Parks & Resorts panel this Saturday, July 15th, 2017.

“Both Star Wars-inspired lands will transport guests to a never-before-seen planet, a remote trading port and one of the last stops before Wild Space, where Star Wars characters and their stories come to life.”
“Here, guests will find themselves in the middle of the action at two signature attractions: one that lets guests take the controls of Millennium Falcon on a customized secret mission, and an epic Star Wars adventure that puts guests in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance.”

The D23 Expo will also allow fans to get a preview of some of the concept art, the scale- model, the Millennium Falcon and more until Disney releases the “official name” for what will be called these two expansions at the Disney Parks.
Now it’s also worth mentioning too in what “could” be possibly the ride system for one of the attractions were shown off during the media preview for Star Wars pavilion at D23 Expo. Inside the Magic is reporting that, “the upcoming First Order ride that will be a major part of the expansions of Walt Disney World and Disneyland.”
“The First Order Fleet Transport is described as:
Within the First Order fleet, troops, officers, and personnel traverse the interiors of massive ships using small transport vehicles. Piloted by astromech droids, these vehicles are programmed with ship schematics and security access codes.”

This ride system is ideally pretty similar towards Universal Orlando Resort’s ride system for “The Amazing Spider-Man” at Islands of Adventure and “Transformers: The Ride 3-D” at Universal Orlando but, this could just be all speculation or something Disney is trying to come up in being brand new for the Star Wars property.
Check out the scale-model trailer down below and we will be covering D23 Expo 2017 all weekend long including the highly anticipated, Disney Parks & Resorts panel this Saturday!
Stay tuned for updates and have yourself a magical D23 Expo!
