With the news announcement back at this year’s D23 Expo back in July from Disney Parks Chairman, Bob Chapek with the announcement of Pixar Fest coming towards the Disneyland Resort. Pixar Fest will be a limited-time celebration of friendship and beyond to feature a brand new fireworks spectacular and also the return of two favorite parades as well.
Pixar Fest will kick off April 13th, 2018 with even more Pixar characters, atmosphere entertainment and a lot more at the resort. Starting off with the brand new fireworks show, “Together Forever-A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular” will be with dazzling pyrotechnics and memorable music, the theme of friendship, ever-present in most Pixar films, that is celebrated in this nighttime spectacular. “Together Forever” celebrates everlasting friendships forged by beloved Pixar pals.

Map projections on at the park’s iconic locations of Sleeping Beauty Castle, the water screens of Rivers of America, the facade of “it’s a small world”, and the buildings of Main Street U.S.A (much like how Disneyland did it for the Disneyland 60th anniversary, Diamond Celebration). Buzz Lightyear will even feature himself as a special flyover at Sleeping Beauty Castle.
Also with the announcement at the D23 Expo will be the return of the popular nighttime parade of “Paint the Night” to be relocated at Disney California Adventure to also start on April 13th, 2018. “Paint the Night” has been an interesting discussion from the past of it was coming back or not but, fans of this parade can enjoy it once again when it first debuted for the Disneyland 60th Diamond Celebration back in 2015. The parade features many Pixar stories, including characters from “Toy Story”, “Monsters Inc.”, and “Cars” with also an addition of another Pixar story joining “Paint the Night” parade later in the year.

The Pixar Shorts Film Festival will be featuring Pixar favorites such as “For The Birds” and “Lava” at the Sunset Showcase Theater in Hollywood Land in Disney California Adventure throughout most of the Pixar Fest. The Paradise Gardens area will feature a new Pixar-themed musical troupe along Pixar character greeting locations as well as crafts and activities for younger guests.
Guests can shop with Pixar-themed merchandise including an exclusive, Pixar Fest charm bracelet with multiply options of friendship messages and favorite Pixar characters to mix and match with friends and family.
Still no confirmation of the Pixar Pier takeover that was also announced at the D23 Expo this past summer or when will construction begin but, details are still to be announced.
