Bob Chapek Will Likely Succeed Chairman & CEO Of The Walt Disney Company Bob Iger

News just surfaced this morning of from Bloomberg that the current Chairman of The Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, Bob Chapek is likely to succeed the current Chairman & CEO, Bob Iger after Iger’s contract ends in 2019. The company was at first had a successor of long employed veteran of the company, Tom Staggs as the COO of the company but with shocking and surprising news in which he officially stepped down from the company last year.

The company hasn’t found a suitable replacement yet and Iger’s contract is officially extended towards July 2019 until a replacement is founded. Bob Chapek has a 24-year career span at the company in which roles were both film studio and consumer products according towards familiarity within the company to likely succeed Bob Iger. No proper statement or decision hasn’t been released yet if the company decides to move forward with this.

It will be a 19-month transition to complete and to find a replacement after Iger since Disney is under going the pressure to find one for them. Most likely that they want someone within company grounds and not bringing anyone from an outside company even Disney’s history has pulled in past CEO’s from companies that weren’t under their belt.

Chapek over took the company’s theme-parks division back in February 2015 to ensure that Disney’s most heavily-foreign invested and biggest park that they ever opened up for Shanghai Disneyland last year for it’s first year of operation of guest attendance up towards of 11 million visitors. He also lead the openings of the the brand newest addtions in the California and Florida domestic parks of “Pandora: The World of Avatar” at Disney’s Animal Kingdom at the Walt Disney World Resort and Guardians of The Galaxy: Mission Breakout! at Disney California Adventure at the Disneyland Resort this year for it’s first attendance of guests.

Bob Chapek has all the background experience from the theme parks, film studio, and consumer products and he could be a very strong choice if we hear anything official from Disney. Investors and shareholders are now will be raising eyebrows within the coming months if we hear any more updates from Disney themselves about this succession and power of transition from Iger towards Chapek.
