Enter The Mastermind World Of Jordan Peele’s “US” At Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights

The creative mastermind film maker and director, Jordan Peele who has won Academy Award winning awards for his works such as Get Out and the recent release of the doppelgänger world of US that came out back in March of this year. His works for psychological horror and thrillers have changed the film making world of pop culture and some are dubbing Peele in being our “modern day Alfred Hitchcock”.

Jordan is no secret for creating innovative films for his works with deep meaningful and bringing up topics of real life issues that we face in our society.

He was also the host of the reimagined series of The Twilight Zone on the CBS Access that debuted this year on the streaming service in paying homage towards Rod Serling from the original series.

Lupita Nyong’o, Winston Duke, Shahadi Wright Joseph, and Evan Alex play the Wilson family and taking a family vacation in Santa Cruz, California in the summer where the whole film was shot. Adelaide Wilson experienced trauma as a child back in 1986 and vacationing back towards the location in where, things turn south for her and rest of her family.

Halloween Horror Nights will be taking you back towards Santa Cruz, California and going through some of the locations such as the Santa Cruz Pier and you might spot a familiar character outside of the Fun House. You’ll adventure through the tunnels that stretch miles deep below America and coming face to face with “The Tethered” in which Adelaide came across her doppelgänger self as a child. “The Tethered” are of every living man, woman and child in the country.

The message that Jordan tackles in his film that you are your own worst enemy and things we aren’t proud of our past in coming face to face with.

You will follow the footsteps of Adelaide Wilson with her doppelgänger “Red” to watch her face off her terrifying mirror image in a deadly dance with a fatal ending.

“As you venture deeper through the haunted house, you will be transported to modern-day, and witness “The Tethered” rise-up from their underground labyrinth, ready to take on their privileged upperworld counterparts – determined to enact their plan of murder and revenge.”

Here’s what Jordan Peele, Michael Aiello, and John Murdy had to say in speaking with People Magazine about the “US” haunted house:

“It’s very exciting to know that fans of Us will get to experience firsthand the terror of being stalked and tormented by ‘The Tethered,’” said Peele in a press release. “It’s been a lifelong ambition of mine to create a monster that would scare people on Halloween, so having ‘The Tethered’ join such esteemed company is a dream come true.” 

“The idea that ‘we are our own worst enemy’ and the visuals around that notion are what made the story of Us so compelling, personal and exciting for our design team to translate,” added Michael Aiello, Sr. Director of Entertainment Creative for Universal Orlando Resort. “Surrounding our guests in that horrific world of duality Jordan Peele created is a perfect fit for Universal’s ‘Halloween Horror Nights.’

John Murdy, Executive Producer of the spooky event, also shared his enthusiasm. “Jordan Peele has put his indelible stamp on a new genre of psychological horror film with the Academy Award-winning movie Get Outand the critically acclaimed film Us. It’s an honor to have the opportunity to work with him and his talented team to bring his unique vision for Us to life as a “living horror movie.”

US (2019) had a domestic gross of $175,005,930 and grossed out worldwide of $254,664,460 which was a bit short of Peele’s Get Out (2017) that had $176,040,665 for a domestic gross and grossed out worldwide of $255,407,663.

Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando Resort begins on September 6th-November 2nd, 2019 and Universal Studio Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights begins on September 13th-November 3rd, 2019.
