As we know ever since D23 2017 and big plans were on the horizon that are officially coming towards Epcot at Walt Disney World and in preparation for the resort’s 50th anniversary. A lot of rumors were circulating around the internet, in terms of the Wonders of Life pavilion and some were speculating it was a Marvel addition of “Black Panther” of Wakanda.
Well that rumor wasn’t clearly the case, and now Disney has officially confirmed that the former Wonders of Life pavilion will devote their plans for a “play pavilion”. Disney has stated this will be an “innovative city” and the city will have immersive experiences, your favorite Disney characters, hands-on activities and engaging entertainment. This will all be ready for the 50th anniversary in 2021.

Here’s what they had to say about it:
“This innovative, new pavilion is beyond anything we’ve ever created and is completely different to Epcot,” said Zach Riddley, portfolio executive, Walt Disney Imagineering. “Built on the power of play, it introduces an immersive and interactive ‘city’ where you can explore, create, and interact with some of your favorite Disney characters. This is an experience worthy of our bold vision for Epcot – and another signature element of our transformation.”
Epcot will be a complete transformation of the park entrance’s when you walk in. The new plaza will welcome guests with more pathways, with beautiful greener agriculture and a newly re imagined fountain. The design will be a complete homage towards the original park entrance with fresh takes on classic elements.

Also, the classic “Leave a Legacy” photos will not be removed and will be relocated instead just outside of the park’s gateway. Significant redevelopment will begin between Spaceship Earth and the World Showcase Promenade and details will be given at a later time.
An experience center is also coming towards Epcot later this year. The Experience center will located in the Odyssey Events pavilion and feature interactive exhibits to help visualize park projects throughout this unprecedented period of transformation.
A lot of new additions and changes are coming towards the park including a brand new nighttime show that will be replacing “Illuminations: Reflections of Earth”, a space themed restaurant, the Ratatouille attraction from Disneyland Paris, and much more.
