Ever since Universal Orlando Resort announced their big plans earlier this year for the next and upcoming theme park for “Epic Universe” in which signs have been pointing this will be the future home site for the highly anticipated Super Nintendo World and many other properties. Universal Studios Japan in Osaka for their Super Nintendo World is already under construction and getting prepared for the Tokyo Summer Olympic Games next year.

Universal Orlando’s “Epic Universe” is rumored to be opening up some point in 2023 in which the park will be a spokes wheel design of the park instead of the previous concept of what Universal Studios Florida and Universal’s Islands of Adventure is around a lagoon. The park layout will be a bit similar like Disney’s Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World Resort for their themed area lands.
Well today site plans got revealed recently for Super Nintendo World coming to “Epic Universe” that are laid out from Orange County for the park. The expansion “was originally” first intended back in 2017 to be replacing KidsZone at Universal Studios Florida but, plans got changed and cancelled in moving towards the new park. “Project 904” as the internal codename for Super Nintendo World as these permits filed towards the new park is a big update in the progression of where it’s heading.

Shown in the permit image down below as it details three rumored attractions based of the world of Nintendo for Yoshi, Donkey Kong and Mario. Donkey Kong is still being tossed around in being rumored to be a boom roller coaster concept, Yoshi as an omnimover attraction and Mario to be based off the popular “Mario Kart” franchise. The details in the permits do not show themed elements, interior structure information and the outside track elements for the Donkey Kong roller coaster concept.

Mario Kart and Donkey Kong will be inside of show buildings as it seems to be according towards these permits as Universal is sticking with these plans (subject to change). Tom Williams as Universal Parks & Resorts Chairman did not detailed the full plans earlier this year back in August as he said they will be rolling out the plans for “Epic Universe” in phases. Due towards the nature of their competitors in not getting any ideas and being influenced from NBCUniversal and Comcast’s plans for this brand new park addition towards Universal Orlando Resort.

Even Super Nintendo World hasn’t been “officially announced” by NBCUniversal and Comcast, it is pretty clear due towards these site plans that the mega popular gaming company is an internal “greenlight for go” for the new park. As Tom Williams also mentioned earlier this year for Universal Studios Japan for their Super Nintendo World that will include retail shops, restaurants, interactive areas, technological advanced gaming elements, character meet and greets and more. This should be a similar copy and paste applied for Universal Orlando’s “Epic Universe” with a multi-level expansion with the other big properties coming as well.
For now this is one of the big developments as this site plans sound exciting as we will soon know more details until Universal Orlando Resort officially announces it themselves at some point later on. Stay tuned for more updates and details coming towards Universal’s “Epic Universe”!
